Report Updated June 26, 2009
LAKE HARTWELL IS DOWN 3.7 FEET, 85 DEGREES AND CLEAR
Bass fishing remains pretty good, despite all the warm weather. Isolated thunderstorms (20% - 30% chance) are in the forecast again for this weekend. Some of these storms were heavy last weekend with quart size hail reported in some areas of the lake. The night Bass Tournaments are coming in with some pretty impressive bass and it is not unusual to see a sack of 18 pounds or better at the scales. The summer pattern is on as the heat persists. Most of the daytime Bass are relating to the deep rock ledges and the boat docks. Early in the morning and in the evening, the Bream are holding tight to the docks and the bass roam up for an easy and quick meal. During the heat of the day, fish the steep rock ledges with jigs, DT10's and a red bug worm. A lot of these rock ledges are located near the bridges and up in the rivers. A slow presentation is a must. You can also vertical jig some good bass out of brush piles in twenty to forty feet of water. Stay cool and drink plenty of water. Tim White will be at Academy Sports in Athens, Georgia this Saturday, June 27th, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
